As a freshman, Nommensen was a major contributor to the Wisconsin Lutheran Girls Varsity team. She stands out for her solid fundamentals and versatility. Kaelyn averaged 11.4 points per game and shot 55% from the field. Standing at 5’11”, she has proven to excel in the post but is also a threat from the perimeter. Although she didn’t take many three-point attempts last year, she had an impressive shooting percentage of 37%. With her shooting ability, she can easily beat defenders off the dribble with her quick first step, making her extremely difficult to guard. It will be exciting to watch her continue to develop into a star player this season in the competitive Woodland-West Conference.

As a wing/forward, few kids are as smooth as Nommensen. Her footwork is excellent for her age, and she looked comfortable when I saw her play out in Pennsylvania last April with her Wisconsin Lakers team for the first time. Nommensen can score inside and out and has the patience and vision to pass and be the fulcrum of an offense if that’s what her team needs from her. She’ll be a piece that can help Wisconsin make a few deep playoff runs if things go the Vikings’ way.

There is plenty to like in Nommensen’s game. She can score from anywhere on the floor, likes to fight for rebounds, and is athletic enough to guard on the perimeter. She’s a versatile kid who excelled on a young Wisconsin Lutheran team. The 5’11 wing is a stoic kid that never gets too high or low on any one play, and it may get confused for not having a good motor like it has for some kids in the past, but that is not the case with Nonsense, she battles every time down the floor, especially when she has to defend around the rim.
