Spain has always had talent worthy of varsity status on a team such as 5A Blythewood. But it can be obscured when playing on a team with college-level talent as the Bengals have enjoyed the last few seasons. As Spain enters her senior season with the Bengals, she is poised to finish her high school career with a flourish and display what she can truly get accomplished on the court. At 5-foot-9, she has the height of someone who can win plenty of rebounding battles and can turn offensive boards into two-point putbacks and old-fashioned 3-point play opportunities. Spain is also more than willing to operate in the open floor as well.

Blythewood needs depth beyond its big three to compete in a realm as daunting as the 5A Division 1 field is. Spain provides that depth. Spain is entering her junior season and provides versatility along with depth for the defending champion Bengals. Standing at 5-foot-9, she is more of a three or a four but she can also give a team productive minutes as a shooting guard. Spain also has no problem with physicality in the interior as she knows she can draw a foul and give her team chances at the free throw line. Expect Spain to take that next step for Blythewood this upcoming season as the Bengals defend its 5A Division 1 crown.

When the topic is 5A Division 1 defending state champion Blythewood, so much of the conversation revolves around its big three which is returning for one more go-round with the Bengals. Championship teams such as Blythewood also have x-factors and Spain is a formidable one for the Bengals. She stands at 5-foot-9 and adds plenty of interior depth. Spain displays her versatility with an ability to play worthwhile minutes as either a small forward, power forward or as a two guard. In addition to what she gets accomplished as a basketball player, Spain also competes in track and field events.
