Star guard led Creekview to their first-ever state title. Three-level scorer that uses sidesteps and stepbacks to free herself for pull-up threes. Crafty handle allows her to breakdown defenders to get to her floater. Has great court vision, a drive-and-dish distributor that finds shooters on the perimeter and bigs in the post.

The star-power of KK Hamby shined on the big stage, shooting 7-12 and 2-5 from distance as she poured in a game-high 20 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals to pace Creekview. The crafty sharpshooter excels at getting free along the perimeter using stepbacks and sudden change of pace to get defenders off balance. She’s a sturdy defender and a great decision maker with the vision to pass teammates open. Brenau is getting a program changer.

Kailyn has had one of the more solid, but quiet high school careers that came to a close, rightfully, with a state championship and her winning the MVP. Hamby has been consistently scoring the basketball against the best teams in the state the last two to three seasons with little recognition. She plays the game with very little style, but a whole lot of substance. Hamby has continued to work and improve while keeping a low profile compared to some of the state’s big stars. She finished the game with 20 points on 7-12 shooting including 2-5 from the three point line and making 4-5 free throws. I expect Kailyn to play early and often at Brenau and it would not surprise me at all if she were to replicate her individual and team success on the next level.

This week has been historic for Kailyn, as she erupted for 33 and 30 points in games on 1/5/26 and 1/9/26, while also contributing steals, blocks, assists, and plenty of rebounds against tough regional competition. She broke her school’s single-game scoring record, set the all-time career scoring mark, and reached the 1,000-point milestone—all in the span of one incredible week.

KK was a key cog in Creekview’s Sweet 16 season. Not only does she handle the ball and facilitate but she packs a punch offensively, good at getting to her floater in the lane and becoming a steady three-point shooter that can fill it up in bunches. Hamby makes others around her better. She’s a gritty on-ball defender. Anderson offered back in 2023. Expect more D-II schools to jump in her final season.

Kailyn was part of a backcourt duo that did a great job of taking care of and handling the ball on their way to a 4-0 weekend at the Peach Games. She shot the ball really well when I was watching and scored 19 points in one game. I was really impressed when I saw her get up and block a couple shots too as she is a smaller guard. Her utilization of pass fakes and shot fakes in the half-court was tremendous and those fakes led to either easy buckets for her or her teammates as one of the better offensive creators throughout the event.

KK did a little bit of everything. The high motor playmaker had her fingerprints all over a 47-45 2OT victory. She tallied 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. Hamby is shifty with the ball and sees the floor well. She delivers accurate passes. KK crumples defenses with her penetration and ability to either hit the open man or score herself.
