She has put together a special year, and capped it off with a state runner-up finish. Love this kids athleticism, can play the game fast and is able to beat you multiple ways on the floor. Defensively, she is able to protect the rim, does a nice job with altering and blocking shot attempts. She’s a double double waiting to happen!

Turinsky is special- There’s a calmness to her game that is amazing to watch! The way she can handle the ball from the top of the key, combined with her footwork – the years of work have certainly paid off, and Youngstown State is going to love having four years with her! She finished with 14 points on 7-9 shooting, and 10 rebounds, along with 4 assists.

The Youngstown State commit continues to impress everyone throughout her senior year campaign! Turinsky completely takes over the game when she is on the floor! In the win versus Berlin Hiland she finished with 12 points and 16 rebounds. Complete domination on both ends of the floor! Of the 16 boards, seven were on the offensive glass which led to immediate putback scores for the Lady Red! At 6’2″, she imposes a huge threat offensively and makes it very difficult for teams to matchup with her. The future Penguin has a huge ceiling and shows that she is only getting better!

Turinsky’s moves on the block, ability to dish the rock out to the guards when double teamed, and how she can 1v1 opponents from the top of the key and school them to the rim is flat out impressive! Such a high ceiling- can’t wait to see her continue to dominate at Youngstown State!

With her long wingspan, Kaitlyn is able to take advantage of this. Able to finish well at the rim after going downward and playing through physical contact. She moves well and is active on defense. Makes it challenging to score and protects the rim on both sides. She disrupts opponents everywhere in the paint since she is 6’3″ and makes it hard for her defenders to score in the paint. Excellent footwork that makes a significant impact on the game on both ends of the ball and covers a lot of territory defensively.

Kaitlyn has a long frame, with a great wingspan, allowing her to utilize that for her benefit. Can get downhill and play through physical contact, finishing strong at the rim. Defensively, she is active and moves well. Protects either side of the rim and makes it difficult to score on.
