There’s reason to believe that she’ll eventually become one of top players at her position if she keeps developing the pace she is. Berry enhances the offense with her ability to capitalize from multiple levels on the floor, including the free throw line. She’ll be on many radars after getting a ton of reps this spring/summer.

Kayla brings strong defensive instincts, consistently jumping passing lanes and anticipating plays, often leading to easy transition offense for her team. Offensively, she moves well without the ball to find open looks from three and can also create space off the dribble, as shown in a recent 12-point performance against Stoneham. Her overall game is especially impressive given she is only a freshman.

A player that can light it up from deep and brings the energy with each made shot. Berry was an undoubted varsity choice and the freshman came on hot early in her debut with four made 3s. Look out for Kalya’s name featured more through the rest of the season; she’s liable to have a big scoring night. Berry will be playing with PSG Elite for AAU this Spring. They’re going to challenge a bunch of teams including some of the top watchers. This is a name to keep an eye on through the entirety of 2026. It could be a big progressive year for her.

An exciting point guard with a high scoring capacity especially when considering how young she is. Berry has a sweet looking jumper that’s accurate from range. She started off the season sizzling in her varsity debut; Kalya was able to drain a string of momentous 3-pointers. She ended the game with 4 of them and had a total of 14 points. Berry is a name to keep watching through the season for North Reading.
