Kamryn Kurt Kamryn Kurt 5'6" | PG North Linn | 2024 State IA is a household name at this point for the North Linn Lynx and as of most recent, she was fantastic again in her teams Regional Championship contest. In a game where the Lynx led the entire time, Kurt was at the forefront for her squad. She led the game in Scoring. Putting up 24 Points on 10-16 shooting and she also grabbed 4 Boards, while passing out 4 Assists. In the end, North Linn won by 32, solidifying their spot as the #1 seed in the Class 1A State Playoffs next week in Des Moines. I have 2-3 teams that I’m really giving a major chance to win the 1A Title this season and the Lynx are in that consideration. Their production speaks for itself and they are stacked, personal wise, compared to most other 1A programs. I’m not sure they will get it done but if they do, it wouldn’t surprise me. As for Kurt, I don’t know where she is going to commit to or what her plan is for the rest of her basketball career but she can play and she should give it a shot at the next level.

Kamryn Kurt Kamryn Kurt 5'6" | PG North Linn | 2024 State IA competes for one of the best 1A programs in the state of Iowa and is their leader in all facets of the game. She is the skilled player on both sides of the ball, she is a relentless defender, and she displays a high motor throughout each contest. Kurt has started this 2023 season right where she left off from last year. She is putting up big numbers, her team is winning some close games, and everyone is playing fundamental basketball. As a coach, there isn’t much more you can ask for. To start this season, North Linn is 4-1, while Kurt is averaging 16 PPG on 42% shooting and nearly 7 APG. The hardest part of the Lynx’s schedule is still yet to come but for the start of a new season, you can work with these numbers. For a team that is currently averaging around 55-60 PPG, their attack is balanced and they play for one another. Two important factors needed if they want to take this thing all the way come Playoff time. I’ve been able to see the Lynx’s play 3 games this season and let me say, they look as good as I would have imagined, if not better.

Kamryn Kurt Kamryn Kurt 5'6" | PG North Linn | 2024 State IA was a bucket all season long for her North Linn high school team on their way to an overall 23-2 record while falling just short of a state championship at the Well in Des Moines to end their season. Kurt, an impressive shooting guard, put on a clinic this year in how to score the ball. She showed off this year that she is an advanced scorer at the high school level and could make a positive impact at the college level with her ability to shoot the way she does. This previous season she had some of the games of her career on the offensive side of the floor, making more than a handful of three pointers, in multiple contests. For the spring she will take her superior offensive ability and aggressive defensive demeanor back to her Iowa Prep program where she will be looking to put together another successful AAU campaign over the next few months. She will do all this while also putting in work on the side, trying to make herself the best player she can be going into her senior year of high school ball with the Lynx.

Going into the contest against the Iowa City-Regina Regals on Thursday night I placed this game as the most important and most challenging up until this point in their season for the Lynx and I may of not been wrong exactly but the Lynx’s ended up dominating in almost every facet of this game, on their way to a 72-52 win on their home floor. The Lynx were led once again by their emerging star this season in Kamryn Kurt Kamryn Kurt 5'6" | PG North Linn | 2024 State IA . Kurt was perfect behind the three point line going 7-7 and scored a game high 26 points in the win. To add to this spectacular night for Kurt, she also joined the 1000 points club for her varsity career. A great and prestigious accomplishment that is well deserved by the junior guard. Going forward this Lynx team is going to go as far as Kurt and company can take them. They work hard, get off to quick starts, and can all shoot the ball, so going into playoffs I anticipate for this team to be at the top of the watch list of teams that could take home the state championship this season.

Kamryn Kurt Kamryn Kurt 5'6" | PG North Linn | 2024 State IA has been all over the floor for the Lyxn this year and getting her name out there as one really solid player. Kurt, the 5’6 guard, has been averaging just over 15 PPG this year while passing out around 4 APG at the same time on the way to leading her team to an overall 9-0 record. Something that this offense are Kurt do very well is move off of the ball. They are taught and understand the importance of moving with out the rock to get open and tend to score a lot of baskets this way. Another addition that helps Kurt run this team is the defensive pressure. This is a group that likes to turn it up and create a lot of turnovers in transition, leading to easy buckets down at the other end for themselves. If this group is going to get all the way to the championship this season it will be behind the leadership of Kurt, their defensive pressure and some other veteran pieces on this team but we will just have to wait and see how it plays out.

Kamryn Kurt Kamryn Kurt 5'6" | PG North Linn | 2024 State IA offensively led the North Linn Lyxn last season on their state run and hopes to do the same in the 22-23′ season. Kurt, the multidimensional PG with an act of putting the ball in the hoop averaged 17.7 PPG, while dishing out 4.8 APG. With the ability to shoot the ball from mid-range to the three point line, Kamryn is an offensive player that you need to consistently make tough shots with a hand in her face or else it is going to be a long game. Shooting 51.2% from the field last winter and trying to build on it this upcoming season, the Lynx will look to make it to state once again after finishing 23-3 overall, 13-1 in conference. Having 3 starters returning, heavy bench experience, and a system that clearly works from last year, North Linn should be coming back stronger this season with a clear goal in mind.
