Shepard had another big game shooting the ball from deep for Newton where she excels on offense. Shepard added an elbow jumper off a shot fake after several made threes and a nice lay up on an up and under move. She plays very good defense, competes hard, and has good size. Once again, Kandice stood out against a very good opponent. Junior colleges are taking notice and she has received multiple offers, but I believe Shepard could come in a play for an NAIA or Division Three school next year. She is a high academic kid with over a 3.5 GPA and a transplant from Colorado who is way under the radar for her skills and ability.

The George Walton Academy transfer has put herself on college radars with her early season play. A big guard, Kandice looks the part of a next level player with her size, strength and handle. Shephard has the ball skills to play all over the perimeter, 1-3. She recorded a steal and hit a pull-up three as her most impressive hoop. Shephard also scored on a strong downhill take. Kandice had 6 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks against Creekside.

Kandice, a big guard with a powerful frame, dominated in both transition and the half-court. She got downhill finishing in a variety of ways around the rim and showed her mid-range off, rising up over defenders before they could react. Her toughness and competitive edge on defense were just as impressive, diving for loose balls and winning every 50-50 play. Kandice’s ability to control the paint and compete on both ends made her one of the most impactful players on the floor.

Shepard is a player with great size and a high IQ for the game. Game manager and floor general that knows how to manage every possession. A player that can score at all 3 levels and keep you guessing what she can do next. A walking bucket that can take over the game at any given moment.
