Dumas is another that fits the description of a multi-sport athlete. She too, like her Premier Girls Basketball 17U teammate also plays both offense and defense on the flag football team at 7A Oak Ridge. Dumas was part of a Pioneers team that finished with a strong 20-7 mark last season. She understands how to take advantage of her height to convert on high-percentage buckets. Rebounding is another of Dumas’ strong areas and she knows how a team’s defensive efforts can be bolstered by keeping her arms outstretched to take advantage of her length. She played in 26 games this past season at Oak Ridge and averaged seven points, six rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. 

Dumas was placing points on the board early and often as her Premier Girls Basketball 17U assembling put together an offensive and defensive clinic against Alabama Roadrunners Premier 17U Silver. If she had the ball in close proximity to the basket, it was almost assuredly another two points. Defensively, Dumas will utilize length to prevent inbounds passes as she will keep her hands outstretched as a defender. Her athletic schedule has not only included basketball but also flag football over the years. Dumas was part of a 7A Oak Ridge team that finished with a 20-7 record this past season and she averaged seven points, six rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest. 

Kaniya Dumas Kaniya Dumas 5'8" | PF/SF FL brought physicality and toughness to the the shootout and her activity on the court was impressive. On offense, she attacks the rim with force and doesn’t shy away from contact. Dumas rebounded the ball well and was a strong presence inside, giving her team valuable production in the post and on the boards. Her versatility as a defender was also a positive. She showcased her ability to defend on the perimeter and also hold it down in the paint.
