“K-Rae”, as she’s informally known, has always flashed a great deal of versatility and position flexibility, but as she has gotten stronger over the past year, she is starting to really settle into a nice scoring role. When she was younger, she was more of a point forward type, and she does still have that ball skill present. But she is looking to drive it for scores more, her touch outside has become more consistent, and I like the new physicality she’s playing with at both ends.

Friday was my first time seeing Kanyonrae this Spring. She looks noticeably stronger from a year ago, but she also looks like she’s playing with more poise and discipline. She has always had a playmaking element to her game, and she has transitioned from being more of a point forward, to now being a truer scoring guard who can also handle and create. She has elite small college potential.

One of the most unique names in the state, I really like Kanyonrae’s athletic potential. She’s another extremely long, bouncy, and very active kid. She has grown rapidly and might still have another inch or two in her, plus she has developed her perimeter skill nicely. Her handle is much better, and she can knock down an open jumper when set and in rhythm. She does play a little fast at times, and with her ability, once she learns how to change speeds more effectively and get defenders off-balance, she could be a scary offensive weapon. I think she’s a kid who will continue to improve her recruiting over time.
