One of the more underrated players in the state tournament was Kately Cornett Kately Cornett 5'7" | PG/SG Greers Ferry Westside | 2026 State AR , who showed out in the championship game.
Cornett put up 16 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals against the Lady Bulldogs. She shot 8/15 from the field, all coming from inside the arc. Cornett does such a great job cutting to the basket and getting herself open, providing her teammates with an easy assist. She can finish well around the basket, whether in the half-court or in transition.
On the other side of the floor, Cornett was playing some fantastic defense. She was in some foul trouble during the contest, but that did not keep her coach from playing her 31 minutes. The guard poked away passes, picking them up and starting the fastbreak immediately.
Kately Cornett Kately Cornett 5'7" | PG/SG Greers Ferry Westside | 2026 State AR was underrated but not underappreciated by her team. She is an incoming senior, so she will look to be a key piece for this Westside team that looks to return to the championship next season.

Kately Cornett Kately Cornett 5'7" | PG/SG Greers Ferry Westside | 2026 State AR is another solid player in this Westside starting lineup. She has asserted herself throughout the season as an impactful two-way player.
Cornett had 9 points in the semi-final victory, while also coming up with multiple defensive stops. The junior is a threat to strip ball-handlers and to disrupt the passing lanes. Her on-ball defensive pressure is stifling, typically causing havoc for the other team.
On the offensive end, she is a threat to hit outside shots. Cornett is also a solid passer, as she knows how to make the extra pass to an open teammate.
Kately Cornett Kately Cornett 5'7" | PG/SG Greers Ferry Westside | 2026 State AR is another player who will have an important role in the title game, and she could be a major x-factor.

Kately Cornett Kately Cornett 5'7" | PG/SG Greers Ferry Westside | 2026 State AR had one of her team’s better two-way performances against Calico Rock.
Cornett was highly disruptive on the defensive end. She broke up passes, picked pockets, and played hard on-ball defense through every quarter she played in. You could argue that she had the best defensive performances amongst all of the Eagles last night.
On offense, she put up 9 points, knocking down a three off the catch in the third quarter. Like Goodson, Cornett ran hard in transition, making herself an easy target for her teammates to find on the break. If the fastbreak defense collapsed on her, then she would flip it back to her teammates in an instant, showing her high basketball IQ.
Kately Cornett Kately Cornett 5'7" | PG/SG Greers Ferry Westside | 2026 State AR is an excellent player who makes an impact on both sides of the basketball. I will be interested in how she can continue to impact this team throughout the rest of the season.

This junior is well underrated, and her game will only get better. I enjoyed watching this pure shooter go to work on teams so far this season and her ability to score is incredible. With a last name like Coach Keith Cornett, there must be a relation. The 1st of 2 juniors on this list, Cornett is a huge part of the Lady Eagles success. Her defense is tenacious, and she is great in the open court. She’s a magnet for the ball and hounds ball handlers who show doubt in their ability to dribble. #22 is a threat from the outside but also works on her mid-range and driving to the goal. At 5’7 she makes it difficult to guard with her ability to create her own shot and also for her teammates. This student athlete possesses leadership qualities while continuing to enjoy learning the game. On a play versus Bryant, the junior guard stole a long pass and dashed down the court for an and 1. This one is definitely a player to keep on your watch list in Arkansas girls’ basketball 24-25 season!
