About Kaydence
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
Active, athletic, aggressive, accountable; timely slashing guard, that is leadership heavy, and a great communicator on and off the floor. I love to compete, and I hate to lose. If I lose, I want to improve in the needed areas, and learn from the loss. I am a three sport athlete (basketball, soccer, track) so I attempt to use principles and muscles from each sport when I compete.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have a "never give up" mentality, and perseverance has been a key component of my life. I have a serious, yet laid back, fun personality. My personality usually reflects what the need is at that time. I adjust accordingly. I do pride myself on being successful, preparation, and placing myself in a position to win!
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a National Honors Society Member. Also, I am a part of the Environmental Club, Book Club, and the Sports Marketing Club at Hanover Central High School.
I have volunteered at my high school to work the concessions for sporting events, and I have taken part in service projects in my high school community.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed and strengthened all aspects of leadership, teamwork, and service to others. I have volunteered in Indiana and Illinois to assist the elderly for different projects.
For the last two years I have worked in the summer for Chicago Heights School District 170 as Administrative Tech Assistant in the IT Department. I learned how to be a better teammate on a "larger scale".
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I moved to Indiana in 2020 when Covid-19 arrived. A change in my residence was difficult. A new school, new friends, a different culture as I matured. As I attempted to acclimate myself to a new environment, I faced discrimination, bullying, and being misunderstood. As I entered and competed in sports, I had to be a "clique buster" by overwhelming the teams I played on with hard-work & focus.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a university that offers a great pre-med undergraduate program, good coaches, and a thriving campus that offers a well-rounded college experiences that will "spring board" me forward in life. I want to go to a school that will provide me with opportunities to change the world in a positive manner!
