One of the most well rounded players for Bondurant-Farrar High School will be Kaylee Hanson. Hanson stands right around 6’0 and she competes as a CG/SF for whichever team she is lacing up with. She is one of the more coordinated players that the state of Iowa has to offer out of the 2028 Class and when you combined that with natural size, you get an intriguing situation. It’s not crazy to think that Hanson will be a collegiate committed player before she graduated the high school ranks. She checks a few boxes that college coaches would have and she should only continue to get better with experience as an upperclassmen.
We featured Kaylee Hanson a few weeks ago because of her effort during her team’s first AAU tournament of the Spring season. Hanson was someone for Iowa Hoop Dreams that they could turn too. She made a lasting impact as a scoring threat by the hoop, while being a top notch rebounder and defender each contest. She also recorded a number of steals from her SG position and those steals turned into opportunities going the other way. It seemed like every time we turned to look the other way, she was either recording another steal, rebound, bucket, or assist. This is going to be someone to keep an eye on as we continue to move into the Summer. She has really nice size for being a SG out of the 2028 Class and she should continue to get better as she gets more experience under her belt.

if the start of this weekend was any indiction of how it is going to go. Hanson was vital for her Iowa Hoop Dreams program in their comeback win early this weekend. To sum everything up, Hanson showed up on both sides of the ball as a scorer (22) and rebounder (9) from her SG position. As you might be able to tell, this is a hooper with some length as a shooter. She is a mismatch against opponents that come across as smaller and weaker. We saw that first-hand early on Friday night. Hanson just kept making plays and that resilience is the reason that they had a come back victory in the very end. Something you just love to see from an outside POV!

has some real promise. As I’m sure you could assume, Hanson is going to be lacing up with this program for AAU season and then with the Bondurant for her high school career. She is a prospect at the SG position that has nice size at 5’9 for her age level, with the ability to get down hill in a hurry in the open court. Once she gets going that way, she is very tough to stop while attempting a take at the rim. She is also a very capable defender and passer when the chances present themselves. I need to see Hanson compete a little more to be able to dive deeper into her play-style but from what I’ve seen up until this point, there is a lot of like here.
