Expert Analysis
Simmie Colson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Bean is ranked the #10 SG in Arkansas, and watching her create her shot while being pressured and elevate and drop with a hand in her face was nice. She came off the screen and dropped it. She showed the “stop and pop” in transition, plus she also showed the “catch and shoot,” yet she mixed it up to attack and score, or dish. Court vision across the board was solid, and she did a good job defensively

Kaylin Bean Kaylin Bean 5'7" | SG Maumelle | 2026 State AR transfers from Cabot to Maumelle, looking for a fresh start. 2024-25 was an uncharacteristic season for Cabot, finishing with an 11-20 overall record and a 4-8 record in conference play. Now with Maumelle, Bean is looking to lead a revamped Lady Hornet roster.
Bean has a reputation as a solid scorer, being able to hit the outside shot as well as finish through traffic in the paint. If her shot is not falling, she can still make an impact on the game.
Bean is a great rebounder for a guard, using her physical style to muscle her way through the opposition down low. She can leap and grab every rebound she sees, then choose to either go back up with it or dump it off to a teammate. On the defensive end, Bean typically guards the opposition’s best guards or forwards, and she makes their night a long one with her persistent on-ball defensive pressure.

Cabot’s playmakers struggled all night long, which included Kaylin Bean Kaylin Bean 5'7" | SG Maumelle | 2026 State AR . It was clear that Central’s gameplan was to keep Bean from scoring, and she never had anything easy. Despite that, she still found ways to contribute.
Bean finished with 5 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 block. She was the primary inbounder, racking up a couple of assists off quick inbound plays. Considering she was keyed in on as a scorer, Bean had to become more of a playmaker, making nice passes and distributing to her teammates whenever she could.
Bean led the team in rebounds. She was very active on the glass, looking to push the pace once she had possession. The few times she had an opportunity to score, she displayed a lot of skill. Her first field goal was off a great spin move to get around her defender inside. Her other field goal was a contested step-back mid-range jumper, which ended up being nothing but net.
Kaylin Bean Kaylin Bean 5'7" | SG Maumelle | 2026 State AR is Cabot’s most talented player, but she needed help.
