On a team of stars, Donley has given the appearance of a Swiss Army Knife player in two different viewings this season. Her performance to win the Class 4A State Title was another great example of that.

In the first half it was big time three pointers. While in the second half she got it going at the rim on the way to a game high 17 points. There was transition scoring, good drives and contested finishes.  But it wasn’t just on the offensive end that she made her impact felt. She’s a tall, versatile defender who gave some good one on one reps on Lincoln Christian’s star. While also causing some havoc with blocked shots and deflections.

To further highlight the depth of Bethany, the junior recorded a “quiet” 18 point and 11 rebound double-double.  With great size, she’s comfortable doing it all on the court. Donley connected on the one three pointer she attempted, then got after it on the offensive glass. Where she recorded over half of her rebounds. The Lady Bronchos has a surplus of talent, with the size and versatility of the junior making them even more dangerous.

It’s always great to go to an event that Kayten is at because you know that her work rate is going to be through the roof and, because of it, so is everyone else who steps onto the court with her. Then again, I don’t think Coach Mathurin was going to be having much less. But, it doesn’t take anything to get Kayten going. She is a tough player who relishes the defensive opportunity. She also enjoys banging inside and using her length to rack up block after block. She is a very good rebounder and gets up and down the floor quickly. Donley already holds offers from Wayne State and Harding.

Kayten is a long Forward that can shoot the ball and attack the basket effectively. At the forward position, Kayten works hard and has good footwork inside the paint. Defensively she is a presence because she is consistently in the right spots, and ready to make something happen when presented with the opportunity to stop the opposing team. She is long but has quick enough feet to stay in front of guards, plays the passing lane, and can get deflections. She has a high basketball IQ and makes good basketball plays, including using her length to make passes over the defense to teammates within the flow of the offense. When she attacks the basket she finishes well and makes her free throws when fouled. She is an under-rated player with loads of potential and if she continues to work on her game will be a fine basketball player at the next level.
