Maki made a believer out of me with the way she played over the course of grassroots season with Great Northern Elite . She is a very legitimate 3 level scorer that has to be accounted for by the defense at all times. Maki does a great job reading the action and finding when and where to attack the defense. She’s also shown a well rounded game that allows her to influence the action in many different ways.

Maki led Escanaba to a 46-38 victory against Menominee. Despite the frigid weather, she kept the people at the scorer’s table sweating trying to keep up with her. Maki had a terrific all around game, touching all corners of the stat sheet. She finished with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. She may be far up north, but she’s had one of the best seasons statewide so far.

Maki and her Escanaba team have lost some close games to start the season, but she is playing well to start her senior season.  The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point commit is averaging just under a double-double, but has had a couple to start the early season.

Maki committed to Coach Hockett and the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Maki will provide versatility in the backcourt as a high level scorer off the wing as well as a seasoned ball handler and distributer.

College coaches, I highly advise taking the opportunity to see Maki play this weekend at the PGH Live. She’s a well rounded player and a very tough player for opposing defenses to match up with. Maki can score from all 3 levels and will find her most efficient part of the floor to attack from, and get after it.

The weather outside is frightful right? We need an up north star to lead the way. Maki is a perfect choice. She has been a bucket so far this year, proving to be one of the top scorers from the top of the state. Maki is also a terrific rebounder, having the ability to notch a double-double on any given night.

Maki was excellent in Escanaba’s win. She finished with a double-double scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
