gave North Laurel all they could handle in the first game of the Sweet 16. She attacked the rim with strong drives, finishing through contact and made several trips to the stripe, where she capitalized more times than not. She set the tone defensively as well, taking a key charge to start the second quarter. Offensively, she found her rhythm, burying a three from the wing and finishing the half with a tough drive and scoop layup. Kenleigh came out firing in the third, nailing a three to open the quarter and then hit back-to-back triples after that, keeping the pressure on North Laurel as the game went down to the wire.

Woods shined bright in this matchup and made an impact on both ends of the floor. She was at her best when she attacked the basket where she either scored with a tough finish at the rim or got sent to the free throw line. Woods did a good job moving without the ball and made timely backdoor cuts that led to open layups. She also came up with a ton of steals on defense and dove on the floor for loose balls without hesitation. She was awarded Player of the Game for her stellar play.

is making her claim as one of the top juniors in the state. She had a 39 point outburst along with 7 rebounds and 2 steals, she went 12 for 15 from the field and 3 for 5 from 3-point land in the first game of the season against a very good Pikeville squad. Ashland fell short 55-62.

Woods made a huge move up from 85th overall to 24th in this update and she continues to trend up, long term. After averaging nearly 20 points per game as a Sophomore, Kenleigh looks the part of a future scholarship level player. Her three point shooting numbers were respectable but if she can improve that part of her game, look for Woods to average closer to 24 points per game as a Junior.
