Porter holds on to the number 2 spot, but once again, you could never go wrong with ranking this one as number 1. She will remain at the top for her position! She is the double-double queen of the court. Kennedy is more dominate in the paint than any athlete in the state. She capped her senior year off as a state champ, and broke too many records along the way! She can make an immediate impact at the next level. In my honest opinion, Shepherd University is getting a steal!

Parkersburg got the win in overtime against University, 71-70. Porter was the powerhouse to lead her team to victory. Kennedy finished the game with 24 points and 24 rebounds. The numbers that Porter continues to put up is unmatched by athletes in the state. She dominates anywhere in the paint area on both sides of the floor. She has been a matchup nightmare for opponents. She remains the definition of a true powerhouse!

Kennedy continues to show her dominance in the paint area. She does an excellent job of establishing position early. She is extremely ball savvy, & makes great passes out of the paint any time she is double-teamed. Opponents continue to have a difficult time stopping this one. You can count on Porter to make anything around the rim. She is efficient, her 60% field goal percentage proves that!
Defensively, she is one of the best rim protectors in the state. She is also one of the best rebounders in the state on both sides of the ball. She goes hard on every possession, and her leadership is unmatched.
Porter had 16 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks in the win over Spring Valley. She averages a double-double for a reason!

Porter is one of the best post players that you will find! I have spoken about her numerous times now, and she deserves every write-up. She continues to be a true force in the paint. She continues to be a double-double machine! She can finish strong around the rim, and she knows how to finish through contact. She recently picked up an offer from Transylvania. In my opinion, she is going to be a steal for a lot of teams at the next level.

If you want a true, physical post- You want Porter! Kennedy had an exceptional junior season, and you can expect her to continue the high level play through AAU! She’s a true double-double machine. She averaged 13 points, and 10 rebounds per game during the regular season. She continues to make double-doubles look easy. She can step out and knock down the mid-range consistently. She battles on the boards on both sides of the court. She has the every rebound is mine mentality. Keep your eyes on Porter and the WV Thunder Rise squad! Check out junior season highlights below:

Porter works extremely hard in the paint area on both ends of the court. She is a true force that is hard to stop anywhere on the low block! She picked up numerous offensive rebounds. She is one of the few double-double machines in the state! Kennedy finished the game with 17 points on 8-12 shooting, 15 rebounds, and 3 blocks!

Kennedy is a lengthy post, does a good job calling for the rock. Nice footwork in the paint, can use the glass and score well at the rim. One of the better juniors in WVa, hoping for a big summer for her this year! This was the first time I had seen her play, definitely a difference maker!

I’ve stated before that Porter is a double-double machine, and she is still exactly that! She continues to control the paint. She’s a matchup nightmare for opponents! She knows how to position herself extremely well. She has mastered the fundamentals! Kennedy has good footwork around the rim. She plays extremely well through contact and knows how to draw the tough fouls. She is also a great rim protector! She continues to make opponents alter their shots in the paint. Make note, the volleyball standout gets it done on the basketball court too!

First thing that I noticed about Porter is how much attention that she draws and how much contact that she has to play through. During AAU, it can be challenging at times because you are allowed to play more physical and fouls are usually not called. I loved the fact that Kennedy never lost her composure and always was ready for the next play. This one does all of the dirty work for her team! She rebounds exceptionally well, she plays off of two feet exceptionally well, and she finishes strong. I will not be surprised seeing this one average a double-double during her high school junior and senior years. The 5’10 PF should be on all radars!

Porter averaged 9.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game during the high school season! She was 2nd Team All MSAC and she was a 4A Honorable mention! This should tell you exactly how strong 4A is in the state of WV! Kennedy brings a strength and physicality to the court that can’t be taught! She has good footwork and you can tell she continues to work on it! She is extremely patient once she gets the ball! She also has a great understanding of which way she is going as soon as she feels the player on her hip! Keep your eyes on this post player!
