Khala has always been extremely talented and was drawing Division I interest her Freshman year. She has performed well during the Winters, but last Spring & Summer she did not play much grassroots ball. Fast forward to this June & July, and she has been spectacular with both her high school and travel teams. She is scoring it at a high clip, plus she’s handling and shooting it much better. Look for her to potentially have a huge 2025-2026 season.

Khala spent the Spring focusing on track and not playing grassroots ball for the first time in a while. However, the 2023-2024 season was a huge step forward for her. She was electric at times, especially down the stretch in January, and she is one of the most athletic kids in the state, regardless of class. She has speed & quickness, a lot of bounce, and she can change directions effortlessly. She is an offensive nightmare if she gets it inside of 15-feet, she’s a relentless rebounder, plus she can defend multiple positions.

Khala has some high-level athletic tools, whether that’s speed & quickness, or her ability to stop, start, change directions, and explode vertically. She is tough-nosed, aggressive, and a dangerous threat in the mid-post. But Thursday, she was assertive around the perimeter. She looked great knocking down a couple of outside jumpers, plus she attacked from 20-feet and found open teammates on multiple occasions. She has focused on track much of the Spring, so the events this week could really help her with regards to her recruiting.

I don’t say this lightly, but Khala is a special kind of athlete. She can run, jump, and change directions at a moment’s notice. She is extremely athletic in all directions, and she applies that on the track as well. At Northrop in 2023-2024, she put up some huge numbers at times, because she can attack the basket from the perimeter or dominate in the mid-post. When she’s just a dribble or two from the basket, the defense has a real problem. She can also defend four positions, if necessary.

Khala had a tremendous 2023-2024 season for the Northrop Bruins, averaging 17.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 3.4 steals per game, including a 38-point game late in the year in which she was 17-22 from the field. She is one of the best, if not the best, athletes in the 2026 class in Indiana. Her ability to change directions, increase speed, and stop on a dime to rise up are impressive. She is without a doubt a Division-I athlete. The next step for her is to offensively step outside the arc and continue to make her jump-shot more consistent. I think she has huge upside.
