Swynn is one of those kids who could have a big Spring in front of her. She is extremely long, smooth & fluid, and somewhat bouncy as well. She will attack the basket, primarily left-handed, she has a nice stroke from the perimeter, and she is an active offensive rebounder. Defensively, she can sit down and defend bigger guards, wings, and even some undersized forwards. I think all the tools are there to work with; a strong Spring & Summer will go a long way for her.

Swynn is a noticeably talented wing prospect from the moment you watch her warm up. She has tremendous length, fluid athleticism, and she just looks the part when she’s on the floor. She can glide to the room or knock down a rhythm jumper, and my biggest complaint is that she has been a little too passive at times. Not this Winter…she is averaging 20.8 points per game through five games, and she has made herself quite the scoring threat from all spots on the floor. Add to her scoring 5.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 4.6 steals, and 5.4 blocked shots per game, showcasing her versatility and talent.

I was clamoring all Spring for Swynn to be almost a little more selfish offensively, because she has the potential to be an outstanding scorer at all three levels. Saturday, she was just that when I saw her. She buried multiple jumpers from the perimeter, got to the basket with ease and finished athletically, plus she did a nice job of using her ball skill to break down the defense and find open teammates. She had a stretch where she scored several points quickly. Defensively, she has the length and the athletic ability to be a problem, whether that’s against bigger guards or wings.

Swynn had some really nice moments this past weekend, and I am anxious to see how much she grows and gains strength over the next two years. Her older sisters, who are both 6-1, grew about an inch a year, and if Swynn can reach 6-0, I think she will be a highly sought after prospect as a wing guard. She has noticeable skill and athleticism; I actually wish she was a little more selfish.

I hadn’t seen Swynn in some time, so it was great to see her in-person again. She is extremely long, still-growing, and with twin older sisters in the 6-1 range, she likely isn’t done. She is a smooth and fluid lefty, she can play just about anywhere around the perimeter, but she is also willing to flash into the mid-post and knock down the 15-footer or rip and drive it to the rim. She has solid ball skill, but as she gets stronger and learns to play lower, she could be a real matchup problem because of her height, length, and smooth game. Look for her to be on several Division-I radars soon.
