Gooden was evaluated by both of my PGH Texas colleagues; see evaluations here, and when I had a chance to catch her, I was impressed with her intensity on both ends and her falling into that “never takes a play off” group. She scored off the dribble, saw the floor, yet her pressure defense created some turnovers

Kiera Gooden Kiera Gooden 5'2" | PG/SG Dickinson | 2029 TX disrupted her opponent’s offensive flow by getting a couple of clean deflections, then immediately tracked down the loose ball to secure a strong rebound. After the stop, she made an accurate pass to her teammate for a quick bucket. On offense, she played with excellent composure and stayed in the flow of the game.

Spot-up shooter who understands how to move herself into scoring opportunities. Does a nice job setting the screen and then flaring out into space, making herself available for the catch-and-shoot look. She doesn’t stay planted after the initial action, either, showing a good feel for relocating and finding open pockets in the defense. Her movement without the ball helps keep the floor spaced and gives teammates another option when the defense collapses.
