Ross ran the show for Oak Park tonight, doing an excellent job of facilitating and keeping her teammates involved. She consistently found her primary scorers and delivered the ball to them in spots where they could be most effective.

She also picked her moments to call her own number, scoring enough to keep the defense honest and prevent them from keying in solely on her teammates.

On the defensive end, Ross was outstanding. She pressured the ball relentlessly, forced turnovers, and made life difficult for opposing ball handlers with her constant energy and on-ball intensity.

I was walking by the courts this weekend and a 16U team playing up in the 17U division was putting on a showing. That group was the Missouri Phenom KC 16U EYCL team. She has a great handle, she understands timing and control of pace throughout a contest, and she doesn’t force unneeded action. Instead, she sets up her team for success a majority of the time. A lot to like about this one. Not sure who has college interest but she will definitely have some suitors out there before she graduates high school.

The 5’7″ Ross is one of the top young point guards in the Kansas City area. She is a very good two-way player who can excel as a scorer and a playmaker. She can shoot the ball from 3-point range and she also distributes the ball well. She is also very good in the open court in transition. She can also impact games on the defensive end with her anticipation to create turnovers and steals.
