I’m a huge fan of Kinley Painter Kinley Painter 5'7" | PG Providence Academy | 2025 State TN ‘s game. The Emory and Henry commit is known (at least to me), for her scoring. She put up big numbers last year: 19 points her game with over 2 made threes and decent efficiency numbers.
What I really liked once I saw her live was her style of play. She plays with an energy that pushes her team. She’s lighting quick in transition, and does a great job understand exactly when to get rid of the ball, or when to take an extra dribble to make the defense commit. I even saw her put defenders “in jail” in transition–which most HS kids don’t have a clue what that even is.
She’s also really good in the pick and roll game. Her shooting forces defense to go over or switch, and I saw her make the appropriate reads. Really good player.

Kinley has one of the purest shots that you are going to find. KP made numerous 3’s with range. She has a beautiful form, and she knows when to let it fly! She doesn’t take forced or bad shots. She sees the floor exceptionally well, and keeps turnovers to a minimum. However, the way she was able to shoot the ball consistently stood out at the showcase! She is a high energy athlete that I would tell everyone to keep their eyes on this summer! I expect her to have a huge senior season too!

KP plays for Providence Academy out of Johnson City, and she also scored her 1000th point this season. She’s an absolute hooper. She took 11 charges for Providence this season, and she led them in almost every other category. She’s a natural point guard who makes great reads, and she can definitely score the ball from all three levels. She never backs down from any opponent, and she often guarded the other team’s best player. An incredible kid and player. I expect her to become more consistent from the three this summer and lead by example.

In a big win for Providence Academy on Monday, Painter simply put together a 29 point, 10 steal double-double. Painter has been one of our favorite PGs all season, and watching her impact the game of both ends is alot of fun. In this game, the PA defense just kept turning steals into points. Painter’s 29 is becoming a fairly normal number for her.

Painter has put together a tremendous season for PA. She’s always been a big time scorer, and is still averaging 18 points a game. The new revelation for her is that she is averaging nearly 5 assists ( to go along with four steals). Her game has taken a definitive jump as she’s become a real dual threat to either score or create.

Painter has came out this season right where she left off. Her scoring numbers are still very similar, but she looks much more comfortable as a playmaker and facilitator for others! Painter has always been a great scorer; if she can become more of a playmaker her ceiling becomes much higher.

I love Painter’s game b/c while she’s an incredibly efficient 3pt shooter (2.2 makes on 43%), she doesn’t rely on the 3 ball. She still averages over 17 pts a game shooting in the upper 40s%. Painter is putting together a great season.

Painter had similar starts to Cooper in that she’s a diverse scorer who just needs to get her efficiency numbers up. She shot and scored it competently from all three levels. Averaged 18.7 on 41% from the floor, 38 made 3s on 26%, and 122 made FTs on 73%. If her percentages rise she could easily average 22.

Painter is listed as a PG, but I think she’s more than that. She’s the type of kid that could play all over the floor for a college team because of her length and playmaking. She contributes all across the boxscore: last season she averaged 19 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. On D, her size allows her to guard 1-4, and offensively she’s comfortable with or without the ball. A really nice prospect.

Stats don’t lie, right? Correct! Kinley was all over the stat sheet her sophomore year! This point guard averaged 18.7 points per game, almost 5 assists per game, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds per game! The impact that Painter will have on the court as a junior will be one for everyone to watch! Kinley is a scoring point guard but her court vision is amazing! Painter always finds the open player! A great defender! Kinley has a quick first step to get around players and this opens up the lane for her teammates or herself. She will make the correct read! Put this one on your radar, if you haven’t already!
