About Kinsley
Expert Analysis
Brandon Fisher | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Kinsley stood out as one of the most polished and versatile offensive players in the gym this weekend by using her length effectively to finish over solid defense with some impressive, creative touches at the rim. Her shot is a major weapon that features great rotation, clean form, and a high release that makes it tough to contest. She was just as effective in the mid-range and showed the ability to score on the move which adds to her overall scoring package. Beyond that, Kinsley made smart, timely passes that created easier looks for her teammates and proved she’s not just a scorer but a well-rounded offensive playmaker.

I came away as impressed with Ketterhagen as anyone I watched over the weekend. She is in constant motion with or without the ball and moves with purpose. She is a very athletic player who slashed her way to the basket repeatedly and either finished with a kickoff pass for three, scored at the rim or pulling up just short. On one play versus White Tiger Elite, AIA had the ball baseline out of bounds and the pass went to Kinsley on the wing. She made one quick, decisive move, blew by the defender and scored. She hit multiple threes throughout the tournament from the top of the key, wings, and corners. She also accumulated a high number of offensive rebounds and steals with her effort and energy. Kinsley was direct with the ball and she got where she wanted to go the most efficient way possible consistently. She stood out to me in a game full of future division one players. I look forward to watching her play (with a lot of confidence) again.

The sophomore at Oostburg is one of the most skilled players that Wisconsin has produced, and may make the game look easier than anyone I’ve seen come out of Wisconsin in my time covering the girls’ game. She’s an elite three-level scorer and one of the few to make off-balanced mid-range jumpers efficiently enough to make it difficult to ask her to stop shooting them. Ketterhagen is a national-level recruit who will be sought after by all the top programs in the Midwest. She’s another one who people have seen as a 7th grader playing a few age levels up with her sisters, and she has come a long way since then. It’s exciting to see her continue adding more layers to her game.

The Oostburg wing played an integral role in the Lady Dutch’s run to a D3 State Title in her first season of high school basketball. Ketterhagen established herself as one of the state’s most prolific offensive players and demonstrated her ability to make challenging shots from anywhere on the floor last season. Ketterhagen can make the game look simple when she’s at her best.

Oostburg’s situation changed early when Kinsley’s sister, Riley, went down with an injury just before the season, and Kinsley had more thrown on her plate than she may have expected out of the gate. Nobody could’ve expected her to go for 26 points on 9/16 shooting against a back-to-back state champion, but that’s what Ketterhagen did, and outside of an ankle injury, nothing’s been able to slow her down.
