Another perimeter threat for VCS. Don’t leave her open from deep, because she has a smooth form and hit repeatedly. Be careful on close outs, because she also looked good when using a dribble or two to relocate and still let it fly with accuracy. McLaughlin is a 918 junior who is just starting to heat up at the varsity level with her new school.

Victory Christian has the opportunity to be a sleeper in Class 3A and McLaughlin would be a big part of any improvement. She has a chance to slot in immediately as a “3 and D” type guard. Good off the ball mover, with textbook form from three. Has long arms, and applies similar textbook principles to the defensive end. Can be a plus rebounder for a guard, and even block/contest shots at the rim. Type of prospect who when she does the little things, can add up to be a big impact for VCS.

Combo guard has transferred to Victory Christian from Bixby. An Under the Radar mention in a previous article. Link below.
Keep an eye on Kinsley as change in opportunity is just what is needed to have that break out season. Victory will be a much improve team this upcoming season having guards that can shoot and push the tempo. Kinsley should be a great fit.

The combo guard had a very productive summer circuit season. An excellent 3-point shooter that has nice footwork and smooth shooting mechanics. She moves without the ball either by drifting down to the corner or lifting out of the corner for the kick. Nice decisions when ran off the line getting to the paint drawing help defense. Impressive driver when she splits the gap between her man and help scoring at the rim. A all out hustler on both ends of the floor creating turnover on defense leading into points off turnovers. A 2027 that could have a break out Junior season increasing her recruiting.

The combo guard now plays for the Southern Assault 16uE40. Great showing of a complete game this past weekend in the I-35 Showcase. I have seen Kinsley in person couple times and have always been aware that she is a high-level shooter from the 3-point line but This weekend I saw the open floor game in transition that she brings. A guard that pushes the tempo off the dribble looking to push the baseline for the score. Scored with a pullup jumper and pocket dribble to freeze the defender allowing her to get to the rim. I did like the decisions she made on the drives by not forcing the issue taking what the defense gave her. Good vision on the breaks looking for her teammate to fill the backside lane. Moved without the ball scoring on back cuts and dribble handoffs. A 2027 guard that fits great into a 3/4 guard offense cause of the movement she brings

McLaughlin caught the eye in the contest watched for her effort and attention to detail on the defensive end. Good on the ball defense, moving her feet. While also rotating and generally staying locked in on while off the ball. Checking recently highlights on Twitter, show similar defensive principles. Complete with helpside blocks and verticality without fouling. While also chipping in from deep and even some off the dribble scoring. Appears to have a well rounded game.

Game Watched: Team Griffin Gomez vs JYD Gold
The freshman brought a quality secondary scoring punch to her squad in this viewing. She’s a good mover without the ball, personified by a good give and go that saw her score at the rim. McLaughlin also showed some pop in transition, where she split defenders with a quick and strong gathered move then score at the rim. Along with her offensive contributions, she wasn’t afraid to mix it up inside on defense. Playing a little bigger than her listed height with the way she competed.
