About Kourtney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would consider myself a fast paced, two-way slasher with the ability to break pressure and finish strong at the basket. I have good hands which I attribute to playing football. I'm continuing to work on my midrange and long game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm a fun loving kid that loves the grind. I'm thoughtful and care about giving my best effort whether it be in the classroom, basketball court, baseball diamond, football field, or in the community.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Principle Award, Student Athlete Leadership Team, Youth Leadership Through Adventure, Franklin Adult Coed Softball where we host events raising money for local programs like the St. Vincent DePauls Angel program, Mix Cash & Cans, Lakes Region Children's Auction, as well as local families that come across hard times.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been a leader on sports teams since I was young. I've been a captain on Varsity Basketball since 9th grade. I've learned some of my leadership skills through sports as I mentioned, being a camp counselor for kids, and Youth Leadership Through Adventure camps. Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Life is full of challenges but I'd say time management was one challenge I've faced. I am a three sport varsity athlete (baseball, basketball, and football) that has played basketball year round the last two years and I work. I've had to find balance between all the sports, work, and a social life which is basically the pool and beach with friends. I think I have rose to the occasion thus far.

What type of college are you looking for?

Like most female players I have dreams of playing college ball. I'm looking for a school that meets my financial needs as well as meeting my basketball goal.

Kaplan is a hard matchup for many going up against her and this season she’ll be an even stronger competitor. Kaplan has all the tools while understanding how to effectively use them. She can be assertive when she needs to be, remains poised under pressure and gets to her spots. Not only that, but Kourtney is lively on the defensive side of the ball too. She forces turnovers that turn into easy points on the other end. This is a player to watch this year.
