Kaplan is a 1000-pt scorer that isn’t getting the same attention as her peers. Sometimes that’s okay though, Kourtney’s 1800 points (and counting) says more than enough. No matter the competition or on what level, keeping that type of scoring production is not an easy thing to do. It’s time Kaplan get the spotlight more, hopefully she can do so in her senior season.

Kourtney put together a huge performance with a season-high 32 points and her best efficiency rating of the year (41). She shot 13-for-18 from the field, including 10-for-13 inside the arc and 3-for-5 from three. On top of that, she reached the 1,500-point milestone for her career, after hitting 1,000 points just last year as a sophomore.

Kaplan is a hard matchup for many going up against her and this season she’ll be an even stronger competitor. Kaplan has all the tools while understanding how to effectively use them. She can be assertive when she needs to be, remains poised under pressure and gets to her spots. Not only that, but Kourtney is lively on the defensive side of the ball too. She forces turnovers that turn into easy points on the other end. This is a player to watch this year.

Kaplan is an exciting playmaking combo guard that’s dazzling to watch perform, but yet so efficient in her role. She has topnotch ball control and serves dimes up to teammates in an instant. She also exerts maximum effort on defense. Kaplan has shown to be quite lively with active hands, forcing turnovers in a pinch.

The sophomore has made history twice this month! First, by being one of the youngest 1000-point scorers in NH. The emotional Kaplan earned every ounce of appreciation in that moment. Getting to this milestone early in her second season is just evidence of her hard work and dedication to the game. The second piece of history was her breaking the school’s scoring record with 41 points in a bigtime victory over Sunapee the other night. She bombards the defense and is a tough cover for anyone on the opposing side anytime she laces them up. Her coaches all rave about her being in the gym, as well as being receptive to growing her game, a quality essential for top-level players. The best players are always looking for ways to be innovative with their game. The scoring is the first attribute that may jump off the page, but the Frankin guard has a great IQ and vision too which mark her an upper-class prospect. This is certainly one of NH’s best.
