Wright’s productive spring was capped off with a hard earned D1 offer from Cleveland State. She ran with GUAA program Mavs Elite out of Texas. Has been an instant impact player for a very good Bixby program since her freshman year. Shooting jumps off the page with her. Because she’s textbook with a quick release. But she’s unafraid to mix it up on defense and is a strong all around guard. Very promising future.

It’s simple. Perimeter shooting is always valued at all levels at basketball. That’s exactly what Wright brings to the table, and based on these highlights she torched the nets from deep all weekend long for a recent tournament. Closes out don’t bother her, because her quick release will either see her let it fly over the raised arms. Or she can put it on the deck and get to the rim for floaters. Or relocate with a dribble or two and still hit from distance. Shooting and strong positional size make Wright a no brainer at the next level.

Shooting likely will always be Wright’s calling card. With a quick release, the ball seemingly always leaves her hands with the look of it going in. Especially off of catch and shoot opportunities. Early signs point to Wright being much more than just a floor spacer. Looks stronger off the dribble, real potential to continue to develop into an efficient three level scorer. Bixby has a lot of offensive pieces that can do damage, but when Wright is “on” she’ll make a lot of noise this winter.

One of the best shooters in Oklahoma’s 2027 Class remains locked in from deep. She’s the type of shooter who is always ready to pull, rather it’s a quick release on catch and shoot opportunities. Or taking advantage of defenders sagging off. Bixby finished the year strong with another run to the Class 6A State Tournament, and Wright will be a big part of future success for the Lady Spartans.

Game Watched: vs Union February 29th
Another freshman who can fill it up from distance, Wright is a shooting threat with a good all around feel to her game. She also saved of her bigger moments for the clutch, when she drilled a big three late. Then had a nice steal and assist to a teammate in overtime. Shooting, good positional size and a nose for the ball on the defensive end. It’s a great combination and building blocks for an impressive freshman.

has been proving herself all season and will no doubt be up near the top. She is a lights out shooter with an absolutely beautiful shooting stroke. On top of that, she does a great job of finding spots to get her shot off. She is beyond her years at feeling the game and knowing when to pull the trigger. It seems like things are really starting to slow down for her already and, for me, that is always the first sign that someone is going to be Division-I player when all is said and done. A legit three-level scorer, Kourtney is a problem for defenses. I can’t wait to see her and the Spartans when they get back from their current tournament down in Idabel.

As I start to learn more and more about this year’s freshman class here in Oklahoma, I get even more excited. There are some big-time prospects coming and we’re gonna get to watch them for a long time before they head off to their college homes! Kourtney has already picked up a D-I offer from Wichita State and it is really no surprise when you see video of her play. She is fluid with the handles, the ball is an extension of herself, and she does a tremendous job weaving her way through traffic. Scoring seems to be second-nature for Wright. Her great size as a guard is obvious as she uses her body to shield the ball from defenders and finish strong at the rim. She can stroke it from deep, too. I look forward to seeing Kourtney on the court this season to get a better look at every facet of her game.
