She scored 40 points and knocked down nine three-pointers to become the all-time leading scorer in North Bullitt history, surpassing her aunt, Katie Downey, a former standout at Bellarmine University. Kylie is the spark that makes North Bullitt ignite. She knocked down 87 three pointers, shooting over 34 percent from deep while averaging 16.4 points per game. Her feel for pressure moments shows at the stripe where she hit 72 percent. Kylie pulls defenders out of position, creates for others, and still finds ways to score. She is a massive reason the Lady Eagles are the favorite to repeat as 23rd District Champions!

Kylie led all scorers for North Bullitt last season, averaging 16.4 points per game while helping her team claim the 23rd District title for the second year in a row. She also surpassed 1,500 career points, marking another milestone in her impressive career. Over the summer, she left it all on the floor in her final AAU season with the Lady Aces 17U, earning several college offers before committing to Brescia University, a program that finished 20-8 in the River States Conference and has a bright future ahead under Head Coach Nick Chaykowsky. Kylie was one fire today, nailing back-to-back threes in the first half and showcasing her pure shooting stroke. When she’s hot, she can fill it up in a hurry! and that’s exactly what she did, finishing with four triples. She continues to play at a high level in her final AAU season and looks to be in rare form right now.

Kylie has all the leadership qualities you like to see. A 1,500-point career scorer who led North Bullitt with 16.4 points per game this past season, guiding her team to a 23rd District Championship. She’s a high-IQ guard with great floor vision and ball-handling skills, she consistently makes those around her better. Offensively, Kylie can get to open areas on the court and make shots from anywhere and bring energy and she’s no slouch on the defensive end either. Last week, Kylie racked up three offers from Spalding University, Rend Lake College, and Defiance College.

Downey definitely caught my attention! She’s extremely savvy. She did a great job with the ball in her hands, and she did a great job putting her teammates in a position to score. She has great court vision, and she will find the open player. Kylie is a solid two-way athlete. She has a beautiful outside shot, and she is ready to let it fly from anywhere on the floor. If you don’t have Downey on your radar, you should. She’s a next level athlete!

It was really good to see Kylie Downey Kylie Downey 5'7" | PG/SG North Bullitt | 2026 State KY back on the floor today and I like what I saw from her against Team 2. She was quick off the dribble and her handles looked sharp. I liked her effort on defense. She jumped the passing lane for a steal and blocked a shot at the perimeter.

Great court vision and passes. Threw some absolute dimes in every game I caught. Deep range on shot. Great change of pace and use of hesitation moves to get past defenders. Consistently made very smart plays and was an easy standout throughout the day. Also really love how balanced her scoring was with her assists. – Alyx White
