Lanie is the athlete that passes the eye test immediately! She’s long and athletic. I love her decision-making and quick instincts on the floor. She is one of the few kids that you can plug in anywhere. She is a true versatile athlete. She went 8-12 from the floor in the championship win! She has a nice mid-range shot and she knows exactly how to get to the basket. Lanie makes an impact on every possession. She does an excellent job rebounding on both ends of the court. Foster put the team on her back & took over. She is the kid that dives for every loose ball & gives 110% effort on every play.

Eighth grader Lanie Foster Lanie Foster 5'7" | PG/SF TN has the chance to be one of the better players in the Class of 1A for a long time.

Foster, despite playing against people a few years older than her in the tournament, held her own and stood out defensively. In Gordonsville’s lone game at the state tournament, Foster had four steals.

The way Foster sees the game is already above the level of many high school players. This, combined with her quickness on the court allows her to be a great wing defender. She can also already create her own shot on offense effectively. This trait, continuing to develop, could make her an elite player rather fast in her young high school career.
