Lauren Eagleton has embodied what this article is all about. Eagleton, a 5’9 SG, has been dynamite for her Madrid High School program throughout their first two contests this Winter. Eagleton put on two dominating performances, averaging 25 PPG, 4 RPG, 4 APG, & 6.5 SPG while her team went 2-0. When you look at these numbers from a state-wide perspective, you could debate that this is the best overall stat line from any player so far this season. Will she be able to keep that up? I’m not sure if it will be to the extent it is right now but with her combination of coordination, natural ability as a Scoring Guard to lead by example, & her motor – she should fair pretty well for the next six months on the Varsity floor. You could say that this is someone who is always going to get their own. If you look at the competition in front of her, it’s easy to see that Eagleton shouldn’t be shut down against anyone this Winter. She might get slowed down here and there but that would be about it.
