Defensively, she is a relentless presence on the ball, constantly pressuring the ball handler, forcing turnovers, or making them give up the ball. If there’s a loose ball—whether on the floor or in the air—she is giving her all to secure it.

Don’t get careless with the ball around her because she will take it. In transition, don’t relax, as she’ll come from behind to poke it loose. Even in the post, Savage plays with the heart of someone 6 feet tall, boxing out and battling with anyone, regardless of size.

Savage is the ultimate competitor, always wanting it more than her opponent. She’s one of the most underrated players and a true sleeper in the 2025 class.

Lavin Savage Lavin Savage 5'3" | SG Impact Christian | 2025 State FL has had a telling first half of the season. Her assist average of 5.3 per game and 58 assists overall shows the growth her game. Savage has embraced the roll of the point guard and Senior leader. Savage can get to the rim and puts pressure on the opponent with her ability with her speed. She draws the attention from help side defenders which makes her playmaking ability standout even more. Savage still is averaging 13.2 points per game and 7 rebounds per game from the guard position. The Senior guard has always been committed to the defensive side of the ball and averages right at 6 steals per game. Savage has definitely taken her game to another level and the most impressive part is her ability to impact the game in multiple ways.

Lavin Savage is another guard who is really worked hard over this past year. She has a game that is predicated on speed and determination. Savage can impact the game with her ability to run the floor in transition. She can attack the rim on the break and also makes good decision and passes in transition. Savage uses her speed to make plays on the floor for herself annd teammates. She has the speed and finishing ability to draw defenses and get the ball to her teammates. Savage’s bread and butter is her ability and willingness to defend all 94 feet of the floor. Savage can lock up a ball handler and cause major disruption to an offense.

Lavin Savage was a top defender at the event, but she also scored the ball effectively. Savage used her quickness to get to her side-step pull-up jumper, throwing off the timing of her defenders and getting her shot over taller players. She also initiated contact on drives, forcing defenders to foul her. Savage definitely lived up to her name as she showed no mercy on either side fo the ball and showed her versatility as a 2-way PG

Savage fought over every screen, and her quickness kept forcing the ball handlers to pick up their dribble. She immediately became one of my favorite players to watch at the entire showcase, as she was a nuisance all day, making ball handlers constantly aware of her presence every time they touched the ball. Despite her small stature, she played like she was the biggest player in the gym. Even when knocked to the floor, she was back up and playing defense before anyone even noticed.

Lavin Savage Lavin Savage 5'3" | SG Impact Christian | 2025 State FL has been on the roster for months and is ready to participate in the 2024 Expo.   Savage is another guard who can put it down in defense and she is one of the lone players who plays defense all 94 feet.   Savage excels on the defensive end and she also plays well in transition.  A lot of her strengths are predicated on her speed on the floor.  Savage is a solid playmaker on the floor. 

Lavin Savage Lavin Savage 5'3" | SG Impact Christian | 2025 State FL 2025  had some good moments at the showcase.  The quickness, the shiftiness, and the handling the ball were on display.  Savage looked in control and was in her element when leading the break and setting up the offense.
