About Laylaa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to run the court and look for transition points and push the ball. As a point guard I want to find my teammates and set them up to score. When I am looking to score, my shot has developed and my first step is quick by the defender. I really like to bother people on defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have been playing basketball since 3rd grade, competing in track and field since 5th grade and play volleyball now. I like to stay busy with sports and my mentality is competitive no matter what I am doing. I can be shy until I get to know you but I am over all an outgoing person who likes to have fun and be active. In sports, I don't like to lose and take it seriously no matter what I am doing.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteer for Aly's Honky Tonk Hustle since 2013 when the foundation was created. Now we have raised over a Million dollars to donate to the UW Carbone center for cancer research. I also am a part of the Black Student Union in McFarland

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

What type of college are you looking for?

Looking for a medium/large school away from home but not too far.

I was unfamiliar with Laylaa coming into The Expo, but she caught my attention as one of the better athletes that I watched. She’s a solid ballhandler who kept the defense on their heels with her quick first step and ability to get to the paint and draw the defense. Shot 20.3% as a freshman but it looks like she has worked hard to improve that, this summer, knocking down a couple of 3’s in the game I watched.
