Leah is another player who had a strong, complete weekend. In their Elite Eight loss, she scored the first seven points for her team and probably had somewhere between 25-30 points overall. She was more physical inside this weekend than she has been in previous viewings, but she still stepped out and knocked down her perimeter jumper with great consistency.

I’ve talked about Leah’s inside-out ability a few times, but Saturday she was a problem inside the arc. She consistently created contact and drew and-1 opportunities, she finished at odd angles, and she was active rebounding the basketball. I was also impressed with her creativity on the perimeter. She’s starting to use the shot-fake well, get defenders in the air, and attack the rim.

When you first see Leah, whether that’s in warmups or early in the game, you think she is just going to go straight to the block and dominate inside. She definitely has that in her, and with her hands and soft touch, I honestly would like to see a little more of that dominance. However, she has also worked so hard over the years on her touch and perimeter game, that she is great as the “trail”, she can stick open jumpers, and she has turned herself into an effective North/South driver. I really like her inside-out ability, and I think she can be a matchup problem as a face-up ‘4’ at the next level.
