Ohio Premier 2025 matched up against Arctic Rush 2025 so I was able to get a look at Leighan Jackson Leighan Jackson Leighan Jackson 5'8" | PF Pikeville | 2025 State KY as well. She finished strong through contact inside and did a good job getting back on defense after a made basket. She also showed her ability to guard the perimeter and the post. I really liked her effort on both ends of the floor!

Leighan makes a small move from 47th to 40th and looks like she could make a big move next season with a Pikeville team that will graduate a ton of talent. Jackson averaged 8 points and 5 rebounds this season and may double those averages next season.

Part of a loaded Pikeville roster, Jackson moves from 60th to 47th and will likely see a big boost this time next year when she has an even bigger role for the Panthers. Right now, Leighan does most of her damage as a slashing wing who can also score with her back to the basket.

Jackson is someone I expected to be a valuable player for Pikeville this season, but since they have so many talented seniors, I wasn’t sure exactly what that role would look like. However, she proved Saturday that she is poised and ready to take a step up this season. While her stats may not make a huge jump (because they were already very solid in her sophomore season), her impact will. Jackson showed a willingness to do whatever her team needed her to do to help them be in a position to win. She has good touch around the basket and she wasn’t forcing shots that weren’t there. She was always ready to kick it if help defense stepped over and she was also making things tough defensively.

Pikeville has the most talented roster in the mountains and it’s easy to overlook Jackson with the veteran talent around her. Leighan is capable of getting a bucket around the post area and is comfortable stretching her shooting out past the elbows. If she keeps adding to her skill set, she’ll start earning offers in her Junior season.
