has put together is nothing short of amazing. Fandel goes from unranked as a Junior, to being a Top 50 player nationally for the 2025 Class. Following this Rankings Update, she led her team to a 4A State Title as the 8th seed in Des Moines and she looked like whole other type of monster while doing so. I wouldn’t be shocked if Fandel saw minutes right away at Kansas. She is like that offensively and she possesses great length. Two things that will help her see the floor for the Jayhawks before you know it.

Libby is averaging an impressive 25.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, she’s a force to be reckoned with. In one of her standout performances, she dropped an incredible 41 points while shooting 70% from beyond the arc, knocking down 7 three-pointers. Not only did she light up the scoreboard, but she also grabbed 11 rebounds, securing a double-double and proving just how complete her game truly is.

experience is one that is fun to watch, no matter who the competition is. Fandel, the Kansas Women’s Basketball commit, has been scorching the nets once again this Winter as Xavier’s biggest producer on and off the ball. The effortless ability that Fandel plays with is what stands out about her game. Other than the fact that she has naturally good size and athleticism. When you combine that all together, you get a recipe for success and a whole lot of buckets. Somethings you see whenever you go to watch Fandel do her thing.

Fandel looked to be in midseason form on Saturday and finished the night with 27 points on 10/17 from the floor. Stepping in the paint and guarding the post position, Fandel used her length and athleticism to step in passing lanes, leading to four steals on the night. She also slowed off a smooth, poised handle while slashing through the zone for lay-ins. Libby was lethal from deep per usual as well, hitting 5 threes (including one from Caitlin Clark range).

her flowers. The 6’1″ guard looked like a veteran leader in practice on Tuesday – she was vocal, she ran the floor hard, and she made excellent decisions. In addition to her lightning-quick three point shot I was impressed with Libby’s physicality finishing around the rim. If defenders didn’t have enough to worry about, I think Fandel has worked on her turnaround fadeaway in the paint. I anticipate another All-Star year for Libby.

and what she brings to the hardwood whenever she is competing. Fandel made the big jump into the Top 100 Rankings by ESPNW at the end of the Summer and she hasn’t looked back since. Shortly after, she committed to the Kansas Jayhawks program to continue on her basketball journey. Fandel is going to return to the state of Iowa this Winter, looking to put together a high school season to remember from a group perspective. With her being committed now, there is a lot less pressure in the air and that is going to help the Saints team hold their own. It’ll be fun to observe what this team can do over the next six months. With the prospects they have returning and the new ones they have coming in at the underclassmen level, they should have a high ceiling this Winter.

took maybe the biggest jump out of all prospects this past six months at the AAU level, getting national recognition on the way to being ranked in the Top 100 by ESPNW for the 2025 Class. Since then, she has committed to compete with the Kansas Jayhawks to kick-off her collegiate future and I’m sure she is going to shine. Ever since I have been watching Fandel, she has been a bucket getter and a producer off of the ball as well. She moves around well with having solid size at 5’11 for her SG position. She should light it up for the Jayhawks down the line but right now she is only worried about one thing and that is the Senior season right in front of her, moving into this Winter at Xavier High School.

17U EYBL team but the one that really stuck with her was her visit to Kansas. This visit locked in Fandel to compete after her Senior season at Xavier in Cedar Rapids with the Saints. This is a “quite” pick-up for the Jayhawks but a good one at that. Fandel brings a uniformed shooting ability from any distance on the floor offensively, while having good size on defense to match-up with a range of different types of opponents. She should see some minutes right away as a Freshman. If she does, she can work from there and continue to expand her game.

Being in Iowa, I understand how good Libby Fandel can be but this AAU season, she has also shown to the nation that she is the real deal as well. So much so that in the latest 2025 Class Update on ESPNW, she was ranked around 40th in the country because of her production with her All Iowa Attack 17U EYBL team. Fandel had a season to remember and was one of the highest stock-risers out of Iowa this past few months. She holds a handful of D1 offers and I’m sure that list is going to grow this Fall if she stays uncommitted. She will return this Winter for one last run with her Xavier Saints High School team and I’m sure her goal is to put up respectable numbers state-wide, while trying to help her squad back to Des Moines for another State Tournament appearance.

of Cedar Rapids – Xavier High School. Fandel is a lengthy Combo Guard, who is a specialist at shooting and more-so scoring the basketball. She has proven on a national scene that she can get hot in a hurry and make it rain from all around the three point line. Defensively, she is also a player that holds her own. She doesn’t get lost on most situations and she is able to switch between a ton of different spots with her size. Moving into this month of July will be an important one looking forward. Fandel has received a lot of interest from D1 colleges as of recent and that trend should continue moving into the fall season of her Senior year with the Saints.
