There is plenty of intrigue as to what the roster will look like for coach Dameon McCain’s 4A Lake Wylie team as it begins its first-ever season. We do know that Pearson – formerly of Clover – will be on that roster. Pearson recently participated in the second annual Passion Driven Showcase at the Pearl Moore Basketball Center in Florence. Pearson spent her spring and summer running with Team Mack on the Under Armour circuit. A gifted scorer and rebounder, she played in 25 of the Blue Eagles’ 26 games last season. Anticipation is building for Nov. 17 when Pearson and her Chargers will compete in the school’s first-ever girls basketball contest as they host 4A Gaffney. 

Pearson concluded her sophomore season at 5A Division 1 Clover and was part of a Blue Eagles team that put together another solid season at 18-8. She is listed at 5-foot-10 and that can give her a height advantage over a number of her peers. Height is one thing that cannot be coached and that shows itself with what she is able to get accomplished in close proximity to the rim. That also displays itself with what she is able to do as a transition floor runner and rim attacker. Pearson is also unafraid of contact that can place her at the free throw line.
