Simmie Colson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Nanick moves from Watch List to Watch Out for what’s coming, see evaluations here, as @playerrimedies also jumped into the conversation. She’s heady and plays under control, and that is a sound base to have, especially at the guard position, but she also can score multiple ways, plus her court vision and ballhandling have gotten even stronger

Not even in high school yet, and Nanick is a crafty guard who uses a corner shot fake to get defenders off balance, then attacks the middle and finishes with a smooth floater. She communicates well and operates as a primary facilitator, keeping her team organized and involved. Her ability to create for herself and others makes her a steady offensive presence.

Nanick falls into my Tip Sheet waiting to happen group, see evaluations here, and watching her get stronger off the dribble and finishing after contact will come in handy because she can already drop the mid to long-range, so that will keep the defenders guessing. Her slight HEZ to get the defender off balance is better, so is her court vision, both in the set as well as off the dribble

Nanick always brings fire on the offensive end and heat defensively and after catching her at least six times see evaluations here she has some serious tools to elevate her game continuously. Let me start with she’s heady and understands how to set the defender up to score off the dribble or create her shot from outside. Her court vision has gotten better as well as her half court defense

Nanick has made several of my Tip Sheets already, see evaluations here, but her handling of the ball and seeing the floor under pressure against older players was my biggest takeaway as she continues to grow both on and off the court

Nanick falls into that #sizedontmatter group and watching her get positioning to “outrebound taller players” helped make my day. I love seeing things you can’t teach and when she added scoring off the dribble as well as from outside, catch and shoot included, I just smiled

Nanick showed she could score off the dribble and finish after contact, body control played a part in that yet she’s also heady and understands how to get hers “in the flow”. Her court vision across the board was nice, she also did a good job defensively both in the half and full court. She also gets the #THROWBACK hashtag for going after loose balls

Nanick falls into the #sizedontmatter group I love to hashtag because she can play. I love her upside for several reasons starting with her being “heady” and when you comprehend the little things that turn out to be big, well that’s a plus. She also saw the floor and made good decisions, used a deceptive first step to attack the basket, and showed the step back coupled with her jumper
