Sam Duren | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
One of the best scorers outside the Oklahoma metro areas, Gentry has been hooping for 5th ranked Class B1 Earlsboro. Just last night she went for 30 to advance her squad to Saturday’s Regional title game. She’s a knock down shooter from deep, who can not be left open. In transition she’s fast but under control, with graceful movements to blow by or cross up defenders. Regularly records multi steal games. Eager to see Gentry next month if she and her team are able to navigate the road to the Coliseum in OKC.

Sam Duren wrote about both Lilly and Kiowa’s Emma Roberts recently, but I just wanted to say how impressed with every bit of film I see on Lilly. Do-it-all guard that has Earlsboro rolling and opposing coaches trying to figure out what to do.

Another Class B baller, Gentry has Earlsboro also off to a 4-1 start. Has done it with full stat line games of 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals in a win against Ripley. Then 10 points and 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in a victory over New Lima. Quality athlete, who causes havoc as a defender. Knocks down open threes. Proved this summer that her game can translate beyond small school ball. Might be one of the more undervalued prospects in Oklahoma’s deep sophomore class.

After a super productive freshman campaign, the explosive scoring Gentry will looking for an even stronger sophomore year. Proved with the Southern Assault that her speed and shooting translates beyond Class B. She can live at the rim, scoring herself or setting up her teammates. Has a mature approach on both ends of the floor, which could see her be one of the most well rounded guard prospects in the Class of 2028. After bowing out in Regionals last year, expect Gentry and Earlsboro to make a push to help open the new State Fair Arena in early March.

Quick guard that has a good change of speed to get the defender flat setting them up the blow by getting to the rim. Impressive is that she is always moving looking to make something happen. On offense she is relocating for shot or waiting for you to turn the head so she can cut backdoor. A shooter with deep range that opens up driving lanes for her to attack. Great vision in the half court and full court. A 2028 to watch

is one of those type of players. Nothing comes easy for the opposing team when Lily is guarding the ball or defending the passing lanes. I do not have stats but I could see where she has the possibility of recording double double with points and steals.
A high level 3-point shooter that is a must find on defense. Moves without the ball relocating looking for the kick out. Attacked the wings slicing in and out of the defense to get the best shot possible.

Small town guard, who is a good athlete and plays in attack mode. Head up in transition and with a cannon for outlet passes. Gets paint touches in the half court with above average quickness and a good first step. Highlights and accolades from her freshman year put an emphasis on her scoring ability. Which she had scoring spurts, but watching a full Southern Assault win put a spotlight on her being a well rounded guard. Who can elevate her teammates along with getting buckets.

Gentry is a freshman who already has earned impressive accolades, with Little River conference MVP honors. She nearly averaged 20 a game as a freshman, including the highlights of a 30 ball linked above. She torched the nets from deep in that contest, often via great form on catch and shoot threes. But she did drill a DEEP pull up three, after she created space with snake like dribbles. She’s also capable of snaking through defenders on drives. And feasted in transition, especially with the steals she forced.
