About Lily
Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Lily has quick-twitch, shifty, and elusive handles that make her difficult to contain off the dribble. Lily changed directions using fast crossovers, pivots, and spins to create open driving lanes, then kicked in the afterburners to score speedy layups with her right and left at the rim. She showed her outside range, drilling a three from the corner, and knocked down another up top. Lily was effective as a facilitator and made a contested layup with a smooth transfer off the catch. She was one of the quickest players in the gym, and her slashing ability stood out for Meridian at the Au Sable Shootout.

Lily blew me away at the Au-Sable Shootout during the summer, and she’s been a lightning rod for Sanford Meridian this season. She’s an explosive downhill driver who exploits gaps and converts tough shots at the rim. Lily dropped a cool 25 in the opener and 21 against Cass City. She’s a crafty point guard who handles the ball and finishes well using either hand. Lily makes scrappy plays on defense, competes with relentless effort, and can light it up from three-point range.

Lily was one of the best finds at the Au Sable Shootout. It was my first time watching her play, and she left a great impression. She competes with all-out effort and contributes in every statistical category. Lily penetrated gaps with her explosive drives to the basket, caused many fouls, and converted her free throws. Lily snagged a defensive rebound, pushed the ball with both hands, changed directions with quick crossovers, and used a smooth euro-step move. She applied relentless pressure to opposing ball-handlers on defense to cause turnovers, pursued offensive rebounds, and dished accurate entry passes for assists. Lily was patient and poised as a driver; she recognized when the defense had the advantage, kept her dribble, and brought the ball out to the perimeter. She got downhill off ball-screens and finished a left-handed layup with great footwork in traffic. Lily drove hard through a defender’s chest, maintained her balance, and finished the layup.
