Expert Analysis

Trenbeath moves up to the #6 spot in an incredibly talented class. She is clearly one of the best players in the state. I think Liza was a snub for not being a finalist for Miss Basketball. She had a crazy good senior season, averaging about 27 points per game. I don’t think people realize how difficult it is to score 27 once, let alone average it for an entire season. She isn’t just a one dimensional player; she can defend, rebound, and has great vision passing the ball. She left her mark and showed what it takes to be a great player to her younger Kindred teammates.

I like Trenbeath’s ceiling as a prospect. I think she is going to have an exceptional senior season for the Kindred Vikings. She is a great size for a guard at 5’11 and moves really well. She has a textbook shot and will be a sniper from deep this season. I like her vision with the ball and her ability to make passes due to her impressive length. Liza has potential to be a D2 guard but would be a steal at the NAIA or D3 level.

Trenbeath has really impressed me as of late. She has made a strong commitment to getting into the gym and putting in the work, oftentimes getting individual work done twice a week with a basketball trainer. She is drenched in sweat by the time her sessions are over and has been taking the workouts serious. She is a talented, tall, long, and athletic guard. I think she has a high ceiling and is potentially a D2 prospect. She is setting herself up for another All-Region season as a senior.

I know of many schools that are interested in Liza due to her point guard play along with her size and athletic ability. She looks like a Division 2 guard when she walks onto the floor. She can defend guards at that level and would have a chance to excel on both sides of the ball. She is looking to lead an eager Kindred team back to the state tournament in 2026. Liza can continue to turn heads this coming season in her recruiting journey.

A couple of the college coaches asked me about Liza right away. She has the frame of a D2 guard and the athletic ability to go with it. She looked very good on Thursday and utilized her physical abilities to gain offensive and defensive advantages. She passes the ball really well and is able to rebound and run. Liza has had a very nice start to her offseason and showed out at the Who’s Next.

Liza is a great option for Kindred and will have a great senior season following an excellent junior year campaign. Her height allows her to have great vision with the ball and she is a good decision maker. She has a smooth looking shot and her size allows her to finish strong near the rim amongst bigger defenders. She can defend guards with her speed but can also compete against posts due to her 5’11 frame.
