Lorelei dazzled with some impressive highlight plays for Team Two at the PGH Illinois Freshman Showcase. She’s a crafty point guard prospect who has the skills and quickness to penetrate off the dribble or burn defenses from the perimeter. Lorelei drained a smooth corner three off a screen from a balanced setup and shot the ball confidently throughout the day. She blew by to score a speedy inside hand finish on a drive and consistently showed the ability to get downhill. Her behind-the-back/crossover dribble combos were crisp and fluid. Lorelai was active as a rebounder, and she’ll be a welcome addition to the backcourt at the high school level.

Providence has had some really good talent come through its program for a while, and Skog could be another name on that list. As of now, she plays with a strong sense of confidence that carries her offensive game. She’s not afraid of pressure at the rim and shows she can make shots from the outside. The defense is solid as well, mainly due to the motor she plays with. If she’s able to carry that confidence into her high school career, she’ll be a player to keep track of.

Skog has the aggression and energy that set her apart from some of the other prospects I saw today. The handle is solid, and she doesn’t dribble too much to get to her spots. She can knock down the three-ball and get to the rim with or without the contact. Midwest Magic has some serious young talent, and she’s a big part of it. High potential.
