Expert Analysis
Byron Xerxes Livsey | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Most young players with length and frame at this age are rarely coordinated, but Augustyn does not fall into that category. She is an issue to deal with from the free throw line and down. She has strong hands, good feel around the basket, and doesn’t seem to shy away from contact. Her development will come from expanding the areas where she can be effective on the floor, and time is on her side to do so. She has the tools to be a major piece for her high school program going forward. One of the top post players in this class for sure.

The potential is strong for Caitlin. She has a good frame for her class year, and she doesn’t just use it in the paint. On Sunday, she had a decent amount of moments where she showed she can extend the floor and make things happen from out there. She doesn’t seem to overthink her decisions either. A player to pay close attnetion too over the next couple of years.

I’ve watched EBA Ice for years now and they are definitely one of the good programs out there that I love to stop by to see. Out of their 2030 Class, someone to keep an eye out for the Ice is Caitlin Augustyn. Augustyn is one of those that has the height and coordination from a young age, that all coaches love to see. Not only that, she seems fairly intelligent when it comes to the X’s and O’s portion for the game. That combination is not one you always see and if you do, it’s usually on a D1 type of prospect. I think the CA has the ability to take things a long way on the hardwood. She just needs to remember to keep her base, metaphorically and literally, while working on her weaknesses. She demonsrated this weekend that she is extremely versatile in whatever she puts her mind to. She can guard her position and wall up against bigger or she can lock in VS smaller opponents. It’s whatever the coaching staff needs and that ability is going to jump out to future recruiters.

Caitlin is a problem! Her length and agility gives opponents complications on both ends of the court! She can play from multiple positions. Long range 3! And another 3 from the corner! She is lighting it up! (Below on defense)
