About Lyla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Strive for perfection which is unachievable but that doesn’t stop me. I love to shoot but understand getting to the rim is a high percentage shot.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Ultimate competitor but an even better teammate.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I volunteer during the holidays months ringing the bell for the Salvation Army in my hometown. I also enjoy volunteering during our community basketball program and giving back.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Everyday is a new challenge. Academically, athletically and the day to day grind. I busted my butt to play varsity in 8th grade and ultimately made the team and was our 6th man.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to play basketball at the next level but I also understand where I’m at. I have alot of work to put in to become a D2/D1 player but my end goal is to play post high school and get an education as a PE teacher and hope to coach as an adult.

Very patient on offense. Lyla got a feel for the defense and grew more comfortable as the game vs Sisters Keeper (Toronto) went on. Nice job on the inbound pass getting the ball in play and immediately sprinting to the 3-point line for a quality look.
