Mac did what she always does well which is handle the ball with efficiency and purpose, knockdown open shots, specifically three pointers from the corners, and sprayed passes all over the court using her very good peripheral vision. What I had not seen a lot of before was her being a vocal leader, encouraging and celebrating with her teammates after a big play. She has large shoes to fill at North Oconee the next seasons with the departure of LF Willis, however Setchel has all the tools in her bag to do just that. She will be a solid Division Two/Division player in college with her basketball IQ, multitude of skills, and her competitiveness. She is surrounded by other excellent guards,

, and the three looked to have good chemistry together in the first event. A good sign for things to come for the very talented trio.

Mack is a player that stood out to me earlier in the season and one I have been keeping track of since. She plays with a lot of maturity with the basketball in her hands for a sophomore and the big stage did not shake her confidence against Marist. Satchel impacted the game as soon as she stepped on the floor grabbing rebounds and helping with the effort to contain Harpring. She has good length and moves well and did a really good job anticipating where the ball is going on defense. She is an elite passer who finds the smallest openings to deliver the ball and when she does it has something on it. Mack has excellent form and shoots the ball very well from the perimeter and free throw line where she ends up often attacking the basket off the dribble. She is a skillful, crafty player who will be moving up the rankings in her class in Georgia.

on multiple positions which will only make her better in the long run. Mackenzie hit a nice three-pointer in the fourth quarter and wen 2-2 from the line. Setchel is a key piece for the Lady Titans. Her production off the bench could be an X-Factor come state tournament time.

Setchel plays the game with a quiet confidence and calmness that is rare in a player her age. She makes really good decisions with basketball in her hands. She never got sped up or tried to force anything that was not there and just took what the defense gave her. Setchel is a very skilled player who is one of the best shooters in the 2028 class in Georgia. Setchel played hard on defense where did a good job shutting down dribble penetration and hand active hands. When Setchel is assertive on offense she can really score the ball.

A breakout season is forthcoming for Setchel who is already on D-I radars. Long-armed high-motor guard fills it up with her jump shot but is also aggressive in the full court press. Picks up steals and can gracefully finish with either hand. Stat sheet stuffer.

Breakout potential on the perimeter for North Oconee. Setchel is listed at 5-foot-5, but feels much taller with her long arms and instincts. Exceptional three-point shooter, smooth slasher off the bounce. Has a nose for the ball defensively. Turns steals into breakaway layups. Potent scorer with the upside to net 10-15 points per game nightly.

Setchel’s emergence has kept North Oconee undefeated when chunks of their varsity roster are available. In a 53-39 win over Fannin County, Mackenzie nailed five threes and finished with 17 points. She ranks in the Top 5 in scoring in the league and is among the league’s three-point leaders. Setchel should see immense playing time in Year 2.

Mackenzie outscored a shorthanded Denmark group, hanging 31 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals in a romp. The smooth sophomore scored from all levels, swishing four threes, thriving in transition and showing the ability to create off the bounce to finish with either hand. As more and more playing time presents itself, expect Setchel’s stock to sky rocket.
