, Byron’s 2000 point scorer was faced with this question in Thursday’s semi-final. She found the answer quickly, as her 6 steals and 4 assists came up huge in the win. Macy still finished with 9 points as well, and showed that even on an off night, she will find a way. Groharing is an exceptional ball player and is going to make a college coach very happy next season.

Groharing can score at will and is extremely tough to slow down. She will be the biggest factor in Byron navigating through their tough sectional. Macy plays well within the game and doesn’t seem to press too much. She is one to watch during regionals.

Groharing is still one of the best scorers in her area and at her position in the state. She has a bit of craftiness to her game, but for the most part. Everything seems to be calculated, and she knows when to use her length or the aggression that most defenders don’t want to deal with. Defensively, both of those things play a huge factor in why she’s effective on that side, especially her awareness.

Macy has made a statement this summer, and it’s apparent that she’s a guard that coaches will need to take a stronger look at, because in the right system, she could possibly be a program changing type of guard.

Back in late 2023 Macy went through a major injury, a type that most dont bounce back from. However, Macy seems as if she hasnt lost a step. She had a strong ending to her sophomore season, and followed it up with a strong AAu season as well. This year, shes back to looking like one of the top juniors in the state. Coaches should be tied in when AAU season kicks off.

One of the most skilled players in her class, Macy can do it all on the offensive side of the ball. She’s lengthy, quick, and has a strong sense and feel for the game. She’s nowhere near her best self yet, with lots of potential.

Coming into this game I was expecting Macy to have a couple big games, regardless of her youth and the stage. Even though the outcome wasn’t what she wanted, Macy put a lot of people on notice. She’s smooth, relaxed, and unbothered. All of that shows in her efficiency. She missed only two shots in game 1, and finished 48% for field with averaging 12ppg for the entire tournament. She gets to her spots with pace and logic. She can score from all levels, handle the ball, and create looks for all of her teammates. Her potential has no limit.
