Maddie can put on a shooting clinic all day! She’s making it rain! Smooth with the ball and decisions on transition. Active rebounder. Crossover that allows her wide open jumpers. Defensively rips the ball away! (Below with ball, Featured Photo)

Coaches- Lepley is college material. Plays with such poise, not afraid to take over when the game is on the line. She reminds me of Michigan State’s Emma Shumate- long frame that can shoot the lights out from deep, beat opponents off the dribble, and more than hold her own defensively. (Below, #14)

She created space with a quick jab step and then flew past her defender down the baseline to score a disputed finish at the rim. Maddie had great anticipation on both ends and made intelligent readings to get steals. She can knock down three-point shots and score through multiple defenders, if her shot isn’t falling, she will take you to the rim to score. What a shooter! The mechanics are so fluid! Maddie loves taking you to the basket one on one and is very successful most of the time. She is unique and a hard-nosed player.

Maddie came sprinting out of the gates with a breakout performance on day one, and she delivered an encore performance Sunday that guided Ohio Xtreme 17U to a Championship trophy. Maddie led the team with seven first-half points in the semifinals, draining a long wing triple, and wrestled away an offensive rebound to score a reverse against a scrappy B.1.C.E. team. When it matters most, special players step up, which is what Maddie did in the finals. She used a sudden jab move to create space and blew by a defender down the baseline to score a silky smooth contested finish off the glass. Maddie made smart reads with excellent anticipation on both ends. She converted a backdoor cut layup and anticipated passes to generate many steals and deflections on defense. Maddie expects to make perimeter shots, and she didn’t allow adversity from three to stop her from making winning plays. Trailing by one, Maddie gave her team the lead with a fast break layup and sealed the 44-41 win with two clutch free throws in the final 20 seconds. She led all scorers with 16 points, including six important free throws. Maddie earned a unanimous Tournament MVP selection from The Midwest Scouting Report and Prep Girls Hoops Michigan.

Maddie was an unmistakable high-level point guard prospect and breakout performer for Ohio Xtreme 17U on Saturday of our PGH Michigan State Tournament. Maddie swished many 3-pointers throughout the day with a high wrist snapping follow-through, balanced feet, and was ready to fire on the catch. She got downhill with a burst, and her long strides/length made it challenging for defenders to keep her contained. Maddie exploded towards the basket to score a tough and-one layup, then buried her free throw. She finished the bunnies off two feet and facilitated the offense with poise. Her handles were tight with outstanding control and a variety of shifty crossover dribbles.

Maddie is a prospect I am thrilled to watch in person for the first time this weekend at the PGH Michigan State Tournament. She was the District 4 Player of the Year and Second Team All-Ohio at Jackson High School. Maddie is a 6-0 Combo-Guard with shifty ball-handling and a deadly 3-point shot. She finishes acrobatic layups in traffic with touch and balance. Maddie is a must-see prospect this weekend.
