Madison has been raved about all season long and for good reason. Her stately playmaking was unmistakable, but it was her leadership that stood out in this championship game. Madison controlled the pace plus she showed up as the ideal floor general, helping conduct teammates in the right fashion. It’s incredible production when that same player is hitting the big shots to seal the win too. Benigni was so deserving of the MVP honors.

Madison has been on another level and over these last couple games, it’s clear she’s leaving a statement. In her latest matchups she helped bring home some important wins. Benigni had 25 pts along with 5 ast vs St. Luke’s and broke the single-game scoring record with 38 pts against WMA. There’re aren’t many playing better right now and Madison has been key in getting her team to a nice14-2 record.

Madison is an elite-level shooter who consistently creates space behind the three-point line with side steps and step-backs. She weaves effectively off screens to get clean pull-ups in the midrange and keeps defenders guessing. On the defensive end, she uses her length well to pressure the ball and generate steals, and she is a crafty finisher who uses pump fakes to finish through traffic.

Madison is one of the premier point guards in the entire region. Benigni has been on a tear lately and a name making a lot of buzz. She’s been a special player to start off her junior season. Madison has been known to be one of the better facilitators, but she can easily put on her scoring hat. There’s been a couple high scoring games already, including a 30 pt game 2 weeks ago. Benigni has hit her stride and one to keep watching into the new year.

Madison has impressive footwork, allowing her to create space to get her shot off even when defenders are closing in. She also uses a smooth floater to finish over taller defenders and displays a soft touch in the paint. Her mid-range game is strong as well, demonstrating both control and precision in stopping and shooting on a dime.

Benigni is a primary creator that has excellent vision and finishes well amongst the trees. Her quick reaction skills along with IQ plays make her quite effective in the trenches as she gets deep paint action. Madison’s ball protection skills allow her to be a high contributor no matter the caliber or type of defender on her.

One of the toughest competitors in high school basketball. Benigni has a fiery nature that gets kicked into overdrive on the biggest stages. Last year she helped lead Mercy into postseason success. A solid shooter off the catch and assertive takes to the basket from the top of the key or the wings. Madison has a signature spin move that is uncontrol, but extremely lethal and effective nearly every time she decides to go to it. She embraces contact despite having enough finesse to make every play finished look flawless. Benigni has topnotch speed and quickness. She uses it to her advantage on both ends of the floor. When guarding other point guards, she embraces the bumps before making a play on the ball. She will disrupt ballhandler’s timing and rhythm while staying at the hip. Overall, Madison is a thorough point guard that make others around her better. She’s the #3 ranked player at the position.
