Expert Analysis

Bennett is the reigning state three point contest winner. That contest was held at the above mentioned Macon Coliseum and had zero effect on Madison as shot the ball extremely well in all of the rounds and eventually won against very good competition. As someone who has shot off of a rack in a contest before, I can tell you that it is MUCH more difficult than it looks. I knew she could shoot the ball as she made over 100 threes this high school season, but had not seen her do so in game in person. She knocked down threes on the move and off the dribble, in catch and shoot situations, and in transition on the fast break. She is not just a shooter however as she proved in one game getting to the basket and scoring over much bigger defenders. She is a player in this class that I am definitely keeping an eye on the rest of the spring and summer as she far surpassed my expectations of her going into the weekend. Madison showed toughness after she got right back up and continued playing after taking a hard fall to the floor at full speed.

Bennett not only participated in the three point contest, but brought home the hardware winning in impressive fashion. Bennett has excellent form and did a nice job holding her follow through even in a rushed, timed situation. Bennett shot the ball with confidence and a smile on her face. When I looked for shooting percentage, I can see why. Bennett is not just an elite shooter, but a well-rounded scorer on the offensive end. She finished the season leading her team in points, scoring 22.6 per game while shooting 39% from the field. She scored a total of 654 points on the season, an impressive feat for anyone. Bennett also averaged 3.6 assists per game and 3.3 steals per game for Trinity Christian. Bennett is playing excellent ball at the right time as she heads into live period events this Spring and Summer where she will play in front of multiple college coaches. There is a lot to like about her game.

Bennett maybe having the best season shooting the basketball from deep than any other player in the state. She is averaging 23.6 points per game, including almost four and half three point shots made per game for a total of 88 made threes for the season. The junior does not need much time or space to get her shot off and she shoots a high percentage. Bennett is also a very good defender, at the top of the press and in the half court, that does a great job creating turnovers and turning offense into defense. She is very quick with the ball on offense and attacks the basket with purpose.

Bannett is a shifty point guard that sees the floor well and can score at will. A player that if you take away her drive to the basket, has the ability to knock down the 3 ball. Work horse that doesn’t mind picking you up 94ft and pressuring you the whole game. Great ball handling skills which allow her to make plays.

Madison is a smaller guard who plays up a class and acts as a leader by example and with her voice on her team. She’s a high motor guard that makes a ton of hustle plays and is all over the court. Her defensive intensity will wear you down, and she’s a skilled offensive threat as well. Madi can hit it from deep or drive to the bucket and elevate above a defender for a bucket.

Has a quick release 3 point shot and will shoot off the dribble. Roadrunner. Once her team gets the rebound, she is out in transition and running the wide lane looking to pop or penetrate.

Bennett is a shifty guard that score at will in the paint. A player that doesn’t mind diving on the floor for the loose ball and getting out in the passing lanes. She knows how to run the floor well which allow for easy baskets in transition. Knows how to use her body to absorb the contact and score at the rim. She lets her defense fuel her offense. A player to watch for this upcoming season.
