About Maggy

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I like to be aggressive and go after rebounds. I have solid post play with a good jump shot and layup. I can also kick out and hit 3s. Lockdown defense is my style.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very outgoing. I like to meet new people and experience new things. Cheering on my teammates and being a positive leader is my focus on the team. I love to have fun and be loud, but my game is my number one focus. When it is time to work, I'm ready to give it 110% plus a little extra.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I am also in the Gifted and Talented program at school. I am an active member of Student Council. I have been named to the Superintendent's Honor Roll for straight A's from 4th grade through my 8th grade year. I am confident I can achieve it again as a Freshman. I am an active member of our youth group at church.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership qualities from being a member of NJHS and STUCO. Teamwork is something I have developed from young age and I love to be facilitator for my teammates. Community service is something I learned from my family. We volunteer to help pick up trash on cleanup days, work downtown events, and other things when we can.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My family relocated from our home town the summer after 6th grade. We didn't know anyone in the area we moved. I didn't have a club team and didn't know anyone at my new school. I was able to make new friends and find a new AAU team faster than I thought. It was a little difficult at first getting used to my new school coach and basketball team, but I put in some extra work and it paid off.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with a good medical program. My hope right now is to pursue a college path to become a Pediatric Surgeon or Pediatrician.
