About Mahalia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love to attack the rim off the dribble and always push in transition. I am always trying to get the ball at the right place at the right time so we can take the best shot that our team can get.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I work hard! I want to win! I will never give up and play my hardest until the last second of the game! I have a heart for the game! I’m always trying to do something that will help my team in anyway so we can win. I never complain or have a bad attitude. I just do what I can, and that is whatever the game gives me!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have received many awards as a student. For example student of the month or volunteer of the year awards. I have also been in student council, a Trojan Ambassador, and in the Leaders of the Future program!

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a leader! I am vocal and encouraging to my teammates and I always do what is best for the team! I always do what I think is the right thing to do and most of the time people follow. I really show teamwork in the way I play basketball. I am always for the team and I do things that can help the team not just me!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have not faced a huge challenge yet! And I praise God for that!

Barren County had an outstanding season, finishing 26-6 and was a top team in the 4th region. They claimed the 15th district championship and advanced to the 4th region semifinals. Mahalia Burton Mahalia Burton Mahalia Burton 5'7" | SG Barren County | 2028 State KY played an important part in the Trojanettes success, averaging 5.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. She has excellent defensive instincts, with most of her steals leading to fast-break points. Mahalia shoots efficiently from the perimeter, adding an offensive threat to her strong defensive presence. (Featured Image)

Barren County has a young player on the rise in Mahalia Burton Mahalia Burton Mahalia Burton 5'7" | SG Barren County | 2028 State KY ! I remember her getting a steal then pushing the pace and making sure to keep her head up on the fast break looking for open teammates running the floor. Mahalia also made her free throws, pulled down a offensive rebound, attacked off the dribble, and connected on a short jumper from the corner.
